Carlos and Leonor are legit the coolest hosts ever, they made us feel like VIPs. The gardens were so chill, perfect for taking Insta-worthy pics with our squad. And the breakfast? Delish! We also hit up Serra do Açúcar and it was the most epic hike ever! Can't wait to go back, #squadgoals!
Only thing we'd ask for is more party vibes at night. As teenagers, we were looking for some lit nightlife options near the Moinho.

Stunningly beautiful property, surrounded by lush green gardens and picturesque views of old stone bridges. The cozy Casa das Flores was well-equipped with a kitchen, bedroom, and living room, and had a lovely terrace. The welcoming hostess, Paula, prepared delicious homemade breakfasts and even offered a typical Madeiran dinner upon request. While the weather was cloudy and rainy during our stay, we found sunshine on our hike to Pico Ruivo. The converted watermill felt like a home away from home, with its comfortable bed, well-stocked kitchen, and inviting wood-burning stove. The attentive and friendly staff made us feel cared for, and the tranquil atmosphere and natural beauty of the surroundings were truly sublime.

In the midst of this naturally green property, I discovered a hidden gem - a spring of drinkable water. It felt like stumbling upon a cool oasis in the desert, quenching my thirst with pure delight. Nature truly provides the best refreshments!
Storage space limitation.

The unit at Moinho Do Comandante is a haven of greenery, perfect for nature lovers like me. The presence of a spring with drinkable water on the property adds a touch of natural serenity. I loved having a kitchen at my disposal, making it easy to cook and enjoy homemade meals. Don't worry about packing a hairdryer and bidet, because the private bathroom has got you covered. With a coffee machine and kettle in the room, enjoying a hot cup of brew was super convenient. The rooms are cozy and comfortable, complete with their own private bathrooms for added convenience. The private bathroom with a bath was a welcome treat after a long day of exploring.
Personally, I wasn't too impressed with the bidet in the bathroom, but others may appreciate it.

We recently stayed at Moinho Do Comandante Villa for 5 nights and it was an absolute delight. The owner, Carlos, was incredibly helpful and generous, and Paula, the cook, made the most amazing breakfast with fresh eggs and tropical fruits from the garden. The location is perfect, just a short drive away from some of the best walks in Madeira. The Casa Flores we stayed in was spacious and well-equipped, and Paula even cooked dinner for us a couple of nights. The whole place is charming and surrounded by beautiful gardens, with incredible views of the valley and old stone bridges. We couldn't recommend this hotel more.

Nestled in the lush green mountains, this hidden gem offers a truly enchanting experience. The spacious rooms, as mentioned by previous guests, are beautifully renovated with all the necessary amenities. The friendly and attentive staff, especially Paula, provide exceptional service and delicious homemade breakfasts that include fresh eggs and tropical fruits. The location is perfect for nature lovers, with numerous hiking trails just a short drive away.
Although the location is picturesque, some may find the remote setting requires a car for easier access to other facilities and attractions.

The added bonus of a sauna and delicious fresh breakfast made it even more memorable. I highly recommend this hotel for a truly enchanting experience.

I had the privilege of living amid the gift of nature, with its delightful sounds, scents, and flavors. They even gave me breakfast every day! The house had a cozy seating area, and the location was close to traditional restaurants.
Oh, how I loved the experience! It's just a shame there was only one spring of drinkable water.

The room at Moinho Do Comandante was like a cozy haven in the midst of nature. It had a lush green surrounding and a natural spring of drinkable water, which made me feel refreshed and connected to the environment. As a nature lover, this was an absolute delight for me.
Personally, I found the bath in the private bathroom to be a bit outdated. However, I understand that some people might still find it enjoyable and relaxing.

The house was spacious and comfortable, with a lovely garden next to a river. The location was idyllic, surrounded by lush greenery and a gushing torrent of water. The owners/managers were friendly and caring, providing a warm welcome and even homemade treats. The breakfast served each morning was delicious, with local bread and scrambled eggs. The house itself was immaculately redone and well-equipped, with games and books for entertainment. The wood-burning stove added a cozy touch, and the views of the surrounding area were breathtaking.
The wifi signal was weak in some areas of the house, making it difficult to connect in the upstairs bedroom and nonexistent in the downstairs rooms. The boiler seemed to be quite small, resulting in limited hot water for a substantial bath.
